Dragon Quest Smash/Grow Dragon Quest I collaboration event is now live

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, the new roguelite RPG Dragon Quest game, has a new collaboration with the original Dragon Quest from now until June 16.

This collaboration will have players explore the world of Dragon Quest I, take part in various missions as part of the Dragon Quest I story quests and also speak to townspeople. Players will be able to earn DQ1 gold coins to obtain rewards form the in-game shop.

Today, the newest entry in the Dragon Quest series hosts a collaboration event with the title that started it all, with the commencement of Dragon Quest Smash/Grow’s Dragon Quest I Event. Alongside this collab, SQUARE ENIX has released the debut episode of the DQSG Classified Report video series, which shares regular updates about the game with players.

From today until Tuesday, June 16 UTC, players can explore the world of Dragon Quest I, speak with townspeople and take part in various missions as part of the Dragon Quest I story quests. Participants can earn DQ1 gold coins, which can be used to obtain various rewards at the in-game swap shop. 

While progressing through the new storyline, unlock challenges like the Fearsome Foe: Green Dragon where you'll receive a rank and rewards based on the amount of damage you can deal within the set time limit. Players can also now obtain limited-time Erdrick’s Equipment items, including the legendary Edrick’s Sword, which features the powerful Gigaslash Coup de Grâce that sends enemies flying with a devastating lightning attack. It is also imbued with the Zapple Swords Enchantment that follows up normal attacks with a powerful lightning attack.

Players can also claim new login bonuses and receive up to 1,200 gems.
