GBA-styled Japanese pixel art indie RPG Wiz Brochure is coming to PC via Steam

Japanese doujin circle Pixelepus has set up a Steam page for their upcoming indie RPG that will be titledĀ Wiz Brochure in English. This game will be available on the PC gaming platform, although the circle has yet to provide its release window.

The graphics in this game will feature pixel art on a 240x160 screen resolution inspired by the Game Boy Advance era. It will tell the story of a girl who initially cannot use sorcery, but she is then guided by various monsters. She will eventually be able to guide those monsters in return for the sake of herself, the people dear to her, and her village.

The system feature list also mentions the following:

  • Turn-based battle system that tasks the player to think thoroughly based on the action order, without any features that test reflexes like QTE
  • Ranged attacks will be performed based on the action order, and can be avoided or interrupted by using skills that change the order
  • A unique growth system where abilities can be equipped by using HP as a cost. You can test out various kinds of strategy combinations that fit each enemy
  • All battles are fixed events without any random encounters, but the monster group that has been fought once can always be rematched
  • Growth opportunities will appear a lot outside of battles. You can explore up to the corners of the pixel art-styled diorama map to trigger various events to raise HP and collect abilities or accessories
  • Driving away monsters will make fluffy rabbits appear in the vicinity
  • If you continue expanding the rabbits' territories, they may eventually help you out in return

Pixelepus has also opened a YouTube channel and published a 30-second trailer based on the demo build that will be showcased at the Sapporo Game Odyssey this weekend, on June 7. Official screenshots from the Steam page follow right below. This game is currently only slated to be available in Japanese, although it will still have a few terms displayed in English, such as location names.
