Drecom opens Wizardry 45th anniversary website and YouTube channel
Drecom has opened a new official website and YouTube channel to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Wizardry series. The website is available in Japanese and English.
The Wizardry series' 45th anniversary is set to formally fall this September, following the full release of Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord for Apple II in September 1981. Digital Eclipse recently released a remake of the series' inaugural title for modern Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch in May 2024.
The anniversary website also includes a Goods page that lists Wizardry merchandise being sold on multiple Japanese web stores. While the collectible photo bromides on ePrint Service are only accessible via Japanese convenience stores, the ones sold via Amnibus and Pen-Pare (Penguin Parade) Online Shop are available to order internationally, as both web stores support the Buyee widget.
The Wizardry series co-creator Robert Woodhead has also joined the anniversary celebrations by contributing a video message that is uploaded to the new YouTube channel. You can also find the video right below.
"Wizardry" has long been sustained by the adventurers who have challenged its labyrinths, shared its tales, and cherished it
through the years. In September 2026, this history reaches a major milestone: its 45th anniversary.
With deep respect for our heritage, we want to further expand the charm and potential of these dungeons to the world, and we look forward to celebrating this special year together with all of you.
As the first step, we have launched the Wizardry 45th Anniversary Site.
We will be bringing you a continuous roundup of Wizardry-related announcements, so please stay tuned.
