Xenoblade Genesis revealed for Nintendo Switch 2, launching in 2027
Nintendo has announced Xenoblade Genesis, the next game from Monolith Soft, alongside Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
Xenoblade Genesis will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Exact details for the game are still sparse, though players will take control of Eleanor in her journey to become a "Vesselai", warriors who wield the power of Anima which flows through the game's world. So far the game appears to be gunning for a Fantasy aesthetic; main and player characters sport elf-like ears, and can ride mounts that look like a cross between a wolf and a horse. At least a portion of the story appears to follow Eleanor's tutelage at an academy titled Leukos, as she learns to use a Crystone which helps amplify a Vesselai's power over Anima.
Other details have since been shared by the Japanese official Xenoblade Twitter account. Xenoblade Genesis is the start of a new story in the land of Anshar, and once again is being directed by Tetsuya Takahashi, and with music composed by Yasunori Mitsude, alongside Mariam Abounnasr and Minami Kiyota. Character designs are being handled by Mai Yoneyama and PALOW.
