SHIFT UP and Laced Records are deploying the action-packed yet heartfelt Stellar Blade soundtrack onto vinyl records—a powerful cultural relic for the last surviving vestiges of the human race.
Available to pre-order now are a 4LP box set (44 tracks) and a double LP (22 tracks). The Exclusive Edition box set features “Smokin’ Combo” colour discs, while the Exclusive Edition double LP features “Stellar Blue” marble discs. These Exclusive Edition vinyl sets are only available from the Laced store (www.lacedrecords.com), while standard black versions of both vinyl sets are available from Laced and retail partners.
Vinyl sets include liner notes written by the game’s Sound Director, Jooeun Hwang, revealing hidden details about key tracks from the game and the dynamics of the different music teams.
Sleeve artwork is from developer SHIFT UP, with the box set inner sleeves depicting characters Eve, Lily Artemis II, Tachy, and Raven, while the slipcase boasts a stunning sci-fi character parade. The double LP is differentiated with a sleeve boldly focused on protagonist Eve, and inner sleeves featuring Eve and Raven.
The tracklist has been thoughtfully curated by the Stellar Blade sound team to represent Eve’s journey across the game while ensuring the inclusion of fan-favourites such as “Flooded Commercial Sector”, “Everglow”, and “Raven”. All tracks have been specially remastered for vinyl.
Stellar Blade’s soundtrack comprises vocal-led electronic, K-Pop, rock & metal songs; as well as improvisational jazz and delicate acoustic styles. Taken as a whole, the game’s music calls forth a vision of a doomed yet hopeful sci-fi future overseen by Sound Director Jooeun Hwang and guided by the tastes of Game Director Hyungtae Kim.
Jooeun Hwang, Sound Director on Stellar Blade, says: “For the music of Stellar Blade, our priority was to preserve and highlight the unique identity of each individual composer and artist, while ensuring that those individual voices were ultimately used to express Stellar Blade itself. Thank you for playing and for listening to our music. We sincerely appreciate your support.”
Since launch, Stellar Blade has sold over 3 million copies and was nominated for Best Action Game and Best Score and Music at The Game Awards 2024, as well as achieving a clean sweep of seven categories at the Korean Game Awards 2024.
