The Relic: First Guardian launches on July 31 for PS5 and PC, later for Xbox and Switch 2

Publisher Perp Games and developer Project Cloud Games have announced that The Relic: First Guardian will launch on July 31 for PS5 and PC (Steam).

The game is also set to release for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox platforms later in summer. The Relic: First Guardian will also get a retail release for PS5 on September 4. The release date trailer and announcement from Perp Games can be found below.

South Korean studio, Project Cloud Games, and Perp Games are today unveiling the official launch date for the upcoming The Relic: First Guardian as July 31st.

Arriving across PlayStation 5 and PC on July 31st, the developers are kicking off the announcement with a release date trailer. Giving a glimpse of what’s to come in the dark fantasy soulslike with ARPG influences, First Guardians are called to ready their weapons and fight against the blight plaguing the once peaceful Arsiltus.

Slay. SLAY your enemies

Featuring over 70 tough bosses known as brutals, bone breaking, spine shattering, and skin slicing weapons will be imperative to your journey. Whatever your preference for taking down enemies, each weapon has been crafted to suit the style of the player. Every blade, battle axe, and staff can be imbued with abilities and powers to further enhance and hone to every playstyle. With five weapon types to choose from and twelve exclusive skills trees, players will be able to blend abilities to form an entirely unique class of their own.

It’s all in the stamina

Unique to The Relic: First Guardian, the combat system offers freedom in attacks and intensity in survival. Stamina is reserved for defence and dodging, and attacks are relinquished from any form of depletion. Skills operate on cooldowns, with no consumption of resources to balance in every encounter. This allows every player to adapt to their own playstyle and rhythm, seamlessly blending combat flow.

Levelling solo

With no traditional character levels, players can grow by collecting memories known as Relics. Each Relic will carry one of over 70 unique passive effects that can reshape skill behaviour, alter combat tempo, and enhance specific weapon styles. Players can define their own destiny by strategically equipping these Relics, shifting the focus of growth towards meaningful in-world experiences.

Your story is yet to be told

In folklore-filled story inspired by Asian mythology and folklore, each tale is as unique as every player. Love, tragedy, and untraditional heroism are waiting to be weaved back together to bring peace to Arsiltus once and for all.

An adventure for every platform

The Relic: First Guardian will arrive on PlayStation 5 and PC this July 31st. The Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will arrive later this summer, with a date soon to be confirmed.

PlayStation 5 players and physical media collectors can look forward to the physical version, arriving on September 4th.
