Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Characters - List of all of the playable characters, villains, and more so far
Intelligent Systems has recently started gradually publishing details about key characters from Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave on the Japanese official social media account for the Fire Emblem series.
As a reminder, Fortune's Weave has been confirmed taking place in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It will particularly take place in the Dagda continent, which is located to the south of Three Houses' Fodlan continent (as well as the Brigid archipelago where Petra Macneary came from). One of the characters available in Three Houses, Shamir Nevrand, also originally came from this continent.
We are gradually updating this article with translations of the character biographies—sorted by factions—as Intelligent Systems publish more of them. However, take note that since these translations are based on the Japanese version, some of the terms may differ in the English version due to the localization process. Also be advised that our additional insights may result in several spoilers from Three Houses.

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave characters revealed so far
The Savior's Army
Eshmel (Japanese VA: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka or Marina Inoue)
You are the savior who descends upon the dying lands of Dagda after receiving an order from Sothis the Progenitor. Your appearance will remind people of "The Pale Raven's Messenger" who appeared in the psalms of yore.
You can customize the protagonist's appearance (by choosing the body type, skin color, hairstyle, and hair color) and name—the default name is Eshmel (or more precisely pronounced Ishmal (イシュマール) in Japanese), and official sources will henceforth refer to this character as Eshmel or The Savior.
During battles, Eshmel will use The Nameless Spear to purify the dead people from the underworld. Your avatar also has a powerful Blaze Art where you spend some of your HP to deal damage to enemies in a range.

Fortuna (Japanese VA: Tomoyo Kurosawa)
As one of the deities of Dagda, Fortuna is the goddess who controls destinies. She has the power to interfere with the past in a limited manner.
In order to oppose the sheer force of the underworld king Balor, she and Eshmel will together travel back to the past and guide the Four Heroes, who would be originally already dead, to this land.
Hong Hua (Japanese VA: Airi Ootsu - The Japanese name Kouka (コウカ) is the Japanese pronunciation of this Chinese name (probably 洪花))
A woman who guided the goddess of destiny Fortuna to the Forbidden Lands, and also helped bring in the Savior. She has been aware that she had committed a major sin in the past. In order to atone for that, she is determined to fight and even sacrifice her own life.
Hong Hua excels in using powerful magic. When she uses a magic attack, she can activate her personal skill "Scarlet Magic Power" which increases accuracy rate.

Troy (Japanese VA: Kaori Nakamura - Originally named Troia (トロイア) in Japanese)
A reliable old warrior who joined The Savior's Army after receiving contact from the person who prepared Eshmel's body. She is also well-acquainted with several historic kings of Saramis, as well as Theodora since the latter's childhood days, who also called her "Great Grandma". Hong Hua also notes that Troy had a rather high social standing.
During battles, Troy will use her exclusive portable firearm Cerberus to shoot enemies from afar.

*Gun weapons in Fortune's Weave appear to be categorized under Gauntlet proficiency. The Cerberus gun has a 1-2 Range with "Over-Compressed Beam Bullet" as an included Combat Art, and its overall attacks dealing magic damage, but it only has a total usage durability of 5.
Ribeira Winds
Cai (Japanese VA: Daiki Yamashita)
An energetic and earnest boy who also cares for his family and lives in the tranquil village of Ribeira. He used to spend peaceful days with his childhood friends, but the wheels of fate would turn on his 15th birthday.
He rides a flying ostrich, which can leap over obstacles during battle. He will pierce through enemies with his expertise on Lance, while running all around the battlefield as he pleases.
Favorite things: Moving his own body, Catching animals
Tialla August (Japanese VA: Maki Kawase)
A childhood friend of the protagonist Cai. An enthusiastic bookworm who has acquired various forms of knowledge despite still being 15 years old. She lives with her grandfather, who used to be a strategist but has recently been relying on his granddaughter. Tialla inherits the strategist talents from him.
During battles, Tialla can unleash outstanding support powers to tidy up the battle situations, such as buffing ally stats and healing allies under distress.

Peter (Japanese VA: Kazutomi Yamamoto)
A 15-year-old boy who was raised together with Cai, like they were actual brothers. He has very good eyes that allow him to observe stars even during bright daylight. Even though his archery skills stand out, his gentle and timid personality hinders him from unleashing his true potential.
During battles, Peter will snipe enemies from far away with the Bow, his weapon of expertise. Using a combat art will allow Peter to unleash his personal skill that lets him attack enemies with an even farther range.

Ultand (Japanese VA: Konomi Inagaki)
A young priestess working at the Aurora Temple on the upper layer of Dagsion. With a kind and caring personality, she worries about Cai as if he were her own younger brother, and she would assist him at every opportunity.
She is also working as a receptionist staff for the Heroic Games. When Cai comes to register for the tournament with his childhood friends Tialla and Peter, Ultand is the one who informs him that the initial slots are already filled. However, she also notes that a new registration window will open at the end of the month.
During battles, Ultand can fight enemies while healing other allies. Raising her technical skill will also let her learn holy magic spells that are effective against enemies that have an Underworld Blessing.

House Lamine
Dietrich Gregor Lamine (Japanese VA: Satoshi Hino)
A beautiful swordsman who continues to desire fights against strong people in order to satiate his own thirst. He is a foreigner who comes from the land of Fodlan, which lies beyond the seas.
Dietrich's weapon is the magic sword Answerer, which is also considered a Hero's Relic. During battles, he can use an exclusive technique called Blood Flash (血閃) in Japanese, which makes him more easily able to launch a critical attack with 3x damage.
Favorite things: Things that feel "beautiful", Sweet food, His own younger sister
*As Dietrich is confirmed to be from House Lamine, that would also make him a distant relative of FE Three Houses' Mercedes von Martritz and Jeritza.
Fabio (Japanese VA: Satoshi Yamaguchi)
A missionary of the Church of Seiros who has a lot of mysteries and comes from the faraway land of Fodlan. Though he comes from the same hometown as the protagonist Dietrich, the two of them did not have any prior acquaintances.
Although he is being rational, he has a habit of looking down on other people by calling them "beasts". However, this does not apply to people who have shown their intelligence regardless of their age, to whom Fabio will instead greet them with appropriate respect.
During battles, Fabio will use a special kind of dark magic that can lower the enemy's morale.

Esmeralda (Japanese VA: Hana Hishikawa)
The daughter of the late fisherman Sinza, who lives in a fishing village on the Dagdan coastal area. She boasts her inconceivable superhuman strength, along with an overflow of wild nature. Dietrich saved her from being sacrificed to a marine beast, and she has followed him ever since.
During battles, Esmeralda will swing Sinza's Harpoon (Lance) to crush enemies. She has a peculiar power that allows her to lightly wield any weapon, no matter how heavy it is.

*The crest shown on Sinza's Harpoon wielded by Esmeralda is the Crest of Blaiddyd, which means her family would have the same lineage as FE Three Houses' Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd.
Mikaela Augustus (Japanese VA: Hiromi Hirata)
A former mercenary who comes to Dagsion in order to earn money for the education of her sole daughter. During her active career, she was famously known with the nickname "The Iron-Blooded Mikaela", and even Buccar "The Ogre Bear of Baphos" would recognize that name.
As Mikaela excels in close-quarters combat, when she stands adjacent to an enemy, she will activate the "Strong Veteran" personal skill, which increases her attack accuracy rate.
Favorite things: Taking care of other people, Brewing delicious teff
*Mikaela's surname should be different from Tialla's. Tialla declares her surname as August (アウグスト augusuto), while Mikaela's is Augustus (オーガスタス oogasutasu).
Megaira's Beacon
Theodora Sergio Savangrain (Japanese VA: Minami Takayama)
The young queen of the Kingdom of Saramis, which depends on the Dagdan Empire as their suzerain. She is blessed with the qualities of a monarch who stands above people, and she is also determined to face any kind of hardship without ever retreating.
During battles, Theodora can beat enemies with Mahamadu's Lance, which is said to be wielded by a legendary hero. She can also use the Gambit command, where she borrows the power of her troops to launch a wide-range attack or recovery.
Favorite things: Conflicts, Welfare of the Saramis people
Bonaventure (Japanese VA: Satoshi Tsuruoka - Originally named Bonaparte (ボナパルテ) in Japanese)
A wise general who has been serving the Kingdom of Saramis since the previous king's reign, he is still presently performing at the frontlines as the right-hand man of the protagonist Theodora. Even as the usage of text is forbidden in the kingdom, he has memorized the history of Saramis and all kinds of wisdom, and his words hold certain weight and persuasiveness.
During battles, Bonaventure can deal with various kinds of enemies by switching between Sword and Magic. He can also buff his allies' stats, which is befitting of his status as an intelligence general.
Favorite things: Memorizing knowledge, Question and answer dialogues with sages, Poetry recitations
Tobias (Japanese VA: Kentaro Tone)
The burly general of Saramis who boasts his power and defense; he calls the Queen Theodora "Milady". Just like Bonaventure, he had been serving the kingdom since the previous king's reign and achieved military feats throughout numerous battlefields. However, he is bad at using his own head and cannot quite remember other people's names.
During battles, Tobias will make good use of his tempered power and solid defense to crush enemies head-on.

Lysander Kratos (Japanese VA: Junichi Yanagita)
A genius knight of Saramis. Coming from a famed clan lineage, his uncle is the incumbent Prime Minister, and his father also has his name carved as a great warrior in the kingdom's history. Although Lysander has adequate skills with deep loyalty, he also has an occasional rashness as he wants to make accomplishments without relying on his lineage.
During battles, Lysander excels in making the first move by utilizing the Cavalier class's mobility. When he defeats an enemy, he will activate the Accelerate skill that further increases his Speed stat.
Favorite things: Looking at the sky
Lilian Tabitha (Japanese VA: Shuka Saito)
A young archer from Saramis. Money is more important than anything else to her. Although her conduct and speeches notably have a lack of courtesy toward her liege Theodora, her bow skills are the real deal.
Lilian's status is a bit complicated, as she used to have a famous clan lineage until her father was banished from his position due to an internal strife.
During battles, Lilian has the skills to launch one-sided attacks with the bow from a long distance. If she shoots in a position where enemy counterattacks are not possible, she can activate her personal skill Safe Strategy, which increases the accuracy rate.

Rose Tempest
Leda (Japanese VA: Mariya Ise)
The absolute best Vihuela instrumentalist who can play an alluring melody. Due to "a certain incident" that happened 5 years ago, she gets to walk a life arrested with grudge and revenge.
During battles, Leda can switch between Sword for close-range attacks, Bow for long-range attacks, and Vihuela to buff allies.
Favorite things: Memories of both parents, Musical performances in her hometown, Jewels, Ovations
Buccar (Japanese VA: Takayuki Ishii - Originally named Buccaneer (バッカニア) in Japanese)
A battle-hardened warrior known by the nickname "Ogre Bear", he previously served under the father of the protagonist Leda after first meeting him over 20 years ago. As a vestige of that, he also occasionally calls Leda "Princess". Although he accompanies Leda in her journey of revenge, he also holds mixed feelings about that.
During battles, Buccar can prevent enemy attacks from landing with his tenacious body, and he then strikes back at them with the Axe weapon he excels with.
Favorite things: Loyalty, Guidance from promising young people, Fantasizing about Leda's happiness
Sirocco (Japanese VA: Katsuyuki Miura)
A troubadour shrouded in many mysteries; he appears in front of Leda, who is continuing her journey of revenge. Sirocco calls himself "Capricious Wind" and has a smooth-talking nature that makes him flirt with a beautiful woman whenever he sees one. However, he also has sharp discernment coupled with a high degree of education.
During battles, Sirocco can lightly switch between Sword and Magic to trifle around his enemies.
Favorite things: Goddess Kalla, All women, Reciting poems
*The Japanese fanbase particularly notes that the Japanese katakana name, the purple hair, and the womanizer personality make him share a lot of similarities with Paptimus Scirocco, the major antagonist of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
Mu (Japanese VA: Akane Yamaguchi)
A girl who, despite still having some childlikeness remaining, went outside her home in order to search for her mother, who has gone incommunicado. While she was following her mother's trails, she encountered Leda, who is still continuing a journey of revenge.
Mu intentionally adjusts her tone and attire to look like a boy in order to protect herself from any kind of danger. But while her disguise works on some people like Peter, it does not work as well on some other people like Scirocco and another merchant.
During battles, Mu uses Gauntlets to deal damage from close range. She is still very inexperienced as a warrior, but once she has grown accustomed to it, the sense of combat inherited from her mother will come to bloom.

*The similar eye and hair colors, as well as the inherited combat skills, may suggest that Mu could be the daughter of Mikaela Augustus. However, this is still not formally confirmed yet.
Olympia (Japanese VA: Yuiko Tatsumi)
A passionate priestess who works at the Karla Temple on the upper layer of Dagsion. She is blessed with talents in art and songs, to the point that she becomes worthy of the "Rose of Caelus" title.
She also has a rivalry with Leda, whom she calls with her full first name Leilidana, and is two years younger than her. Olympia revealed in their reunion that Leda took the Rose of Caelus title first, and she always bested her in competitions multiple times. It was only after Leda had left the city that Olympia could gain the "Azure Rose of Caelus" title instead.
Olympia excels in using white magic. When she launches a magic attack, she can activate the "Hating to Lose" personal skill that makes it easier for her to trigger a Critical attack with 3x damage.
Favorite things: Diligent studies on songs and dances, Gathering attention from other people
Mane of Flames
Bertrand (Japanese VA: Hideki Yasumoto)
A gladiator who continues fighting in the Dagsion Coliseum. He is also known by the nickname "White-Haired Ogre" due to his strength, which is comparable to an Ogre God.
Bertrand committed a major sin 5 years ago, so he has been imprisoned in the jail under the Coliseum. Despite this, he is still being treated like a hero inside the Coliseum.
Favorite things: Training, Salted meat, Well-forged weapons, Reading, Board games
Gaitz (Japanese VA: Ryokan Koyanagi)
A first-rate martial artist who has both courage and wisdom, he is also performing as a gladiator in the Dagsion Coliseum. He has a very bountiful combat experience, with some of them obtained from training in the eastern nation of Sai.
Gaitz has been training military arts from a young age. That is also how he is able to detect the sense of danger that envelops Dietrich.
Favorite things: Sai tea, Red-haired horses, Writing with a brush, All kinds of martial arts
Dante (Japanese VA: Tomomi Jiena Sumi)
A master of literature who works as a playwright in Dagsion. With the spirit of creative desire, she wants to write anything she likes into a title.
Dante can also use high-degree magic.
Favorite things: Herself, Finding a dramatic topic, (Reporting on) relationships between people, Other people's performances
Goliath (Japanese VA: Ryunosuke Watanuki)
A gigantic male gladiator who is also known by the nickname "The Bull Killer". With his height reaching 250 cm (8'2.4"), he also boasts his body that is as tough as a boulder, in addition to his overwhelming power. As he is often treated as a villain in the Coliseum, he is unpopular despite his strengths.
Goliath will appear in Cai's storyline as an opponent the latter must face in order to pass the Heroic Games' extended qualifiers.
Favorite things: Running amok, Eating, Producing smoked meat
Jester (Japanese VA: Takuma Nagatsuka)
A gladiator with many mysteries who also hides his true face behind clown makeup. His speeches and conduct are filled with insanity at all times. He comes to be feared by people around him as "The Hell Jester".
Jester uses his speed to play around his enemies. Evading an enemy attack will let him activate the "Blinking Blade" skill that temporarily increases his attack power.
Favorite things: When his opponent's face winces from fear, The white-haired ogre (Bertrand) who gives him enjoyment.
The Moon's Lie
Talimun (Japanese VA: Shinichiro Miki)
Talimun is the chief general manager of the Vandar, the leading merchant house in Dagda. Although he may look aloof and shrewd, he is hiding a huge ambition. He appears to be collecting artifacts that are called "Drake's Treasures".
Talimun excels in using black magic to attack enemies from behind. He is also blessed with a natural strong luck that leads to victories in battles.
Favorite things: Gold, Adventures, Meat stick (which he always chews)
Ursula (Japanese VA: Anna Hachimaki)
As the manager of the Vandar company, Ursula has the next-highest authority after the chief general manager Talimun. She manages the company's funds to the minute details, and there are also occasions where she heavily objects to Talimun's excessive expenditures. But despite feeling overwhelmed by her boss's activities, the two are tied with a strong foundation of trust.
Ursula has the personal skill "Company Manager" that lets her and other adjacent allies access the Convoy and take items from there during battles. This enables the whole party to adapt flexibly even in peculiar battlefields.

Simon (Japanese VA: Chikahiro Kobayashi)
A combat specialist who have survived the verge of death multiple times. During his travels to various regions as a mercenary, he met Talimun who then gives him work contracts for the Vandar company.
Simon is enthralled by the sense of tension that can only be experienced in battles, and he keeps on desiring that stimulation.
Favorite things: Fighting for lives, Playing with women
Luludiya (Japanese VA: Azusa Tachibana)
Luludiya is the daughter of a famous military officer. She is currently working at the Vandar company, which is led by Talimun. She has received special education from childhood, so she has learned first-rate education and sword skills. She is also very interested in love affairs, just like other girls of her age.
Luludiya is known to be able to handle a Sword in a keen and nimble manner. When she goes first in a bout, she can activate her personal skill "Falcon" to make it easier to trigger a follow-up attack.
Favorite things: Writing stories, Appreciating works of art, Romance talks, Shopping
Fianna (Japanese VA: Aya Suzaki)
A clergywoman who, despite looking beautiful, also has a gloomy side somewhere inside her. A few years ago, she was rescued by a temple after she was found collapsed on a riverbank. She is currently affiliated with the Vandar company led by Talimun. She likes food that is spicy to the level that a regular adult man would faint.
In the published conversation scene with Luludiya, it also appears that Fianna considers Talimun as someone special to her, more than just her employer.

Linarian Morning Dew
Orchel (Japanese VA: Kaede Hondo)
A maiden with many mysteries who works at the Clere Temple on the upper layer of Dagsion. She always hides her true face behind the iconic cat mask. Being a pure innocent, she approaches anyone with a gentle and polite manner, but she also occasionally shows her natural airhead side, not knowing the ways of the outside world.
Although Orchel excels in white magic, she also boasts power that can put boys to shame.
Favorite things: Physically touching animals, Cleaning areas, Laundry, Cooking
Diego (Japanese VA: Kengo Takanashi)
A young man who comes from the battle-hardened Hal Hali tribe, which used to be part of the Kingdom of Damascar until the latter perished hundreds of years ago. Patterns unique to the tribe are tattooed onto his arms and upper body.
Although he is untalkative and unsociable, he has sworn a lifetime allegiance to the Clere Temple priestess Orchel, and he always accompanies her.
During battles, Diego can switch between Sword and Bow to adapt to situations, and he can also support adjacent allies with his Bodyguard skill, which gives a probability for them to not receive follow-up attacks from enemies.

Ninae (Japanese VA: Yu Sasahara)
A mystical girl who works at the Clere Temple, together with the cat-masked Orchel. She is also appointed to the Vulcan elite unit, which is directly managed by the deities.
Also well-known by the nickname "Ninae of the Beautiful Black String", she apparently can listen to the voices of the spirits.
Favorite things: Pitiful people, Conversations with spirits, Gazing at the sky
Seteth (Japanese VA: Takehito Koyasu)
An eccentric traveler who comes from the faraway land of Fodlan in order to conduct an investigation. During his journey, he met the cat-masked priestess Orchel, and he has since doing activities together with her.
Seteth also has a tendency to meddle in things.

Loretta (Japanese VA: Satsumi Matsuda)
An energetic girl who works at the Clere Temple. She calls the cat-masked priestess Orchel "Lady Priestess" while accompanying her.
Although Loretta looks obstinate and hates losing, she is also massively afraid of ghosts.
Favorite things: Dependable companions, Sweet food, Friends, Practicing with a sword, Fishing
Brides of the White Raven
Anatolia (Japanese VA: Arisa Ogasawara)
A white-clothed girl who fights in order to rescue comrades from her hometown. Her appearance leads her to be called "The Mystical Bride". Her personality can be considered cool at best or emotionless at worst, but she can also nonchalantly make other people mad at her during divination sessions and more.
During battles, besides long-range attacks with the portable firearm Salamander, she can also perform close-range attacks with martial arts and spirit spheres. Anatolia can also use magic spells that are not commonly seen.
Favorite things: Easy divinations, Round things, Practicing martial arts
Sha Lan (Japanese VA: Sayuri Yahagi - The Japanese name Saran (サラン) is the Japanese pronunciation of this Chinese name (probably 沙蘭))
A woman with a calm demeanor who accompanies Anatolia. She comes to Dagsion from the western lands covered by deserts. She is good at taking care of other people, and she used to take care of children in her hometown village.
During battles, Salan can heal allies with the holy magic she excels at, while also piercing through thick-armored enemies with the Salamander gun.
Favorite things: Delicious meals, Taking care of Anatolia, Studying
*The Salamander gun used by Anatolia and Sha Lan is shown to have the same Combat Art as Troy's Cerberus (Over-Compressed Beam Bullet) but with an even lower durability of just 3.
Nezha (Japanese VA: Shota Hayama - The Japanese name Naja (ナジャ) is the Japanese pronunciation of this Chinese name (哪吒))
An energetic young swordsman who travels together with Anatolia. He is training every day to aim to become the strongest person.
Nezha is bad at keeping secrets, he oftentimes ends up leaking secrets about his hometown village. He is also concerned about his short height.
Favorite things: Moving his own body, Justice, Quarrels, Delicious food, Martial arts training
Daito (Japanese VA: Kappei Yamaguchi)
A young man who travels together with the Mystic Bride Anatolia. A rambunctious boy by nature, he was also treated as a problematic boy back in his hometown village. He likes women so much that he often greets them without any sense of fidelity, although he would end up getting utterly rejected every time.
Daito fights while boasting his arm strength. When neither Daito nor his enemy has a follow-up attack, his personal skill "One-off Bout" will trigger to improve his attack power.

Halvin (Japanese VA: Moe Kahara)

Solel's objective for holding the Dagsion Heroic Games is to stimulate the awakening of the Divine Emperor through the sacred battles contributed by strong people who have gathered from all around Dagda.

Aurora is the goddess who controls stars and sea navigation. The Divine Sovereign Solel, who is also Aurora's father, strictly forbids any outsiders from meeting her,

Centurion (Japanese VA: Kouji Takeda)
A knight serving the Aurora Temple. Known with the nickname "Corundum", he is also appointed into the Vulcan elite unit, where only select priests could join. Centurion is also an old friend of Cai's father Castor, and the two trust each other to the heart.
Centurion boasts his iron-walled defensive power. A half-hearted attack will allow him to parry it without any damage and then strike back at the attacker.

A dauntless general from the Kingdom of Arago, Nathan boasts his overwhelming attack power. With a deep loyalty, Nathan also has a tactlessly straightforward frank personality.
Nathan will stand as one of Dietrich's opponents in the Heroic Games. He leads as a vanguard by making use of his horse's mobility, and run amok around the battlefield with the Lance, which he excels in using.

Just like Nathan, Creek and the Arago squad will appear not only as Dietrich's opponents in the Heroic Games but also as real enemies of Theodora in an actual war. He will trifle around enemies with his elegant swordsmanship while being mounted on a horse.

Benditz (Japanese VA: Hironori Kondo)
A one-eyed old knight who declares himself a "general". He used to lead a unit of 100 people in a temple, but he lost it due to a scandal several years ago, so he is now making a living as a mercenary.
Benditz fights by riding a battle chariot. In addition to long-range attacks with a bow, he can also run amok with the "Fierce Strike" command, where he can rout multiple enemies in a straight line simultaneously.

Jasmine (Japanese VA: Aiko Ohkubo)
A female warrior who is also the leader of a mercenary group named Palman Rain. She used to serve under a regional noble clan in the Kingdom of Arago, but when the clan collapsed a few years ago, she ended up doing mercenary jobs.
Jasmine excels in defense. If she acts later during a bout, her personal skill "Proficient Counterattack" will trigger to improve her attack's accuracy.

Kiroika (Japanese VA: Shunsuke Todo)

A depraved monk who is wandering across numerous nations. He used to work in a temple, but he became a vagrant more than ten years ago. He makes a stop in Dagsion in the midst of his current trip. During his younger years, he apparently went as far as the eastern nation of Sai.
During battles, Yang Jie not only excels in using magic; he also has the physical strength to swing an axe. Furthermore, defeating an enemy gives him a chance to trigger his personal skill "Depraved Monk", which will fully heal his HP when it does trigger.
