Genshin Impact Version 'Luna VIII' launches on July 1

HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII will launch on July 1 for all platforms.

This update brings Sandrone as a new character alongside Citlali in the first banner with players boarding a spacecraft and heading beyond the skies of Teyvat. The second banner will feature Columbina and Raiden Shogun. Genshin Impact is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android. Global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse today announced that Genshin Impact Version Luna VIII, "Sunny Summer Fontinalia," will launch on July 1. In this update, players will reunite with Sandrone, who makes an unexpected return after sacrificing herself in the fierce battle of Nod-Krai. Meanwhile, beyond the skies of Teyvat, the Frost Moon will become available as a permanent new area, inviting players to explore its vast and breathtaking landscapes.

Sandrone, the Seventh of the Fatui Harbingers, makes an unexpected return in this version as a 5-star Cryo Claymore wielder. After a tense first encounter, players witnessed her selfless sacrifice in the fierce battle against The Doctor, helping Columbina and the Traveler secure victory. Now that she has returned, the truth behind her resurrection is set to be revealed.

Arriving alongside Sandrone is Stellar-Conduct, a brand-new Cryo-Electro reaction. When triggered by certain Cryo and Electro characters, the surrounding area will briefly transform into a Polestar Field. This field can store excess Cryo and Electro energy and convert it into buffs, increasing the Stellar-Conduct DMG, as well as Cryo DMG and Electro DMG dealt by all characters within its range, while also reducing opponents' Physical RES. Certain existing Cryo and Electro characters can also receive unique enhancements while within the field.

In combat, Sandrone can increase the entire party's Stellar-Conduct DMG through the Polestar Field. She commands Fagio, a fully autonomous construct that deals Stellar-Conduct DMG with each Charged Attack and accumulates Decoding Power. Once Fagio reaches its firing limit, its attack intervals will increase. By using her Elemental Skill, Sandrone can maneuver through the Polestar Field while firing at opponents, reducing Decoding Power to prevent Fagio from overloading. Her Elemental Burst bombards opponents with artillery fire, and beam DMG dealt within the Polestar Field will be considered Stellar-Conduct DMG.

Sandrone will make her debut in the first half of the Version Luna VIII Character Event Wishes alongside Citlali's rerun, while the second half will feature the return of Columbina and Raiden Shogun.

Players will board a spacecraft and journey beyond the skies of Teyvat, finally setting foot on the moon, where a vast new region awaits exploration. The moon is home to many breathtaking sights unlike anything seen in Teyvat, including a luminous yet treacherous lunar sea and a space station suspended in outer space, from which players can gaze upon Teyvat as it quietly rotates in the distance. In addition, majestic ancient ruins await exploration, revealing more hidden stories tied to the ancient dragon race. A mysterious ancient power permeates the lunar surface, allowing players to traverse various types of terrain and manipulate the local gravity. To further improve the exploration experience, both the moon and Teyvat maps will receive a new layered display feature that shows the player's current level in real time.

The Fontinalia Film Festival sets sail aboard the Wingalet in Fontaine, where Charlotte, Citlali, and many familiar faces gather to celebrate a midsummer water festival. Sandrone will also come aboard for the journey, while Columbina arrives with the film crew for a shoot. The event story will become permanent. Players can help manage the ship's aquarium and attract visitors to join the festivities. After completing the event, players can invite Charlotte to their party for free and obtain a brand-new outfit for her. In addition, Citlali's new outfit will be available at a limited-time discount. Players can also take part in a dance challenge back in Natlan, explore new pieces in the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, and try out new cards in Genius Invokation TCG.

In this update, Miliastra Wonderland will receive a brand-new summer-themed lobby and summer-themed outfits. By completing fun activities, players can also claim free rewards, including Prismatic Crystals and an elegant 4-star set. For Craftspeople, the Editor will receive several practical upgrades, along with a selection of new environment assets that open up more possibilities for interactive gameplay and diverse visual design.
