Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess gets a Japanese Console Archives port on PS5 and Switch 2
Hamster Corporation is releasing a new Console Archives port based on the Japanese 1999 PlayStation release of Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
This release follows the preceding port of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure in the same line that came out last July. But even though the first game's Console Archives release included the English localization, the one for Rhapsody II is only available in Japanese. This is because this line prioritizes faithful ports of the original releases, and the initial PS1 release back then was only available in Japan.
As a reminder, NIS America had separately released Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC which also includes a new English localization for Rhapsody II in 2023. This release is more tailored towards the more contemporary platforms.
