Fate/Extra Record is now being published by Aniplex & developed by Meteorise with additional Switch 2 release

Type-Moon has made a new announcement on Fate/Extra Record. The company has confirmed that Aniplex will be the new publisher for this remake, after Bandai Namco withdrew last March.

Aniplex has also published their own press release on this matter. Although the new publisher has yet to announce a new release window, they have confirmed a new list of platforms. In addition to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 1, and PC via Steam, this announcement newly confirms that a native Nintendo Switch 2 version is also being added.

Furthermore, Aniplex announced that Fate/Extra Record has a new development studio in Meteorise. This studio was previously involved in titles like Atelier Firis, Atelier Resleriana (both the mobile and console games), and Tribe Nine.

The latter reveal brings us back to Type-Moon's announcement, where they also revealed that Type-Moon Studio BB is undergoing a reorganization. Type-Moon and Aniplex have set up a new official website and social media account, as they will close the older Studio BB-linked ones next week, on September 7.

In addition, Kazuya Nino announced separately that he had left Studio BB due to unspecified personal reasons and is now no longer involved in the development of Fate/Extra Record.
