Indie game studio Zenahive is excited to announce that their debut title Aegis Force: The Scorian War launches in Early Access on Steam today. Inspired by genre classics such as Shining Force IIFire Emblem, and Final Fantasy TacticsAegis Force is a story-driven, turn-based tactical RPG featuring rich characters, strategic combat, and an eye-catching 2.5D pixel art style.

Aegis Force: The Scorian War tells the story of two nations, one empowered by magic and the other by technology, locked in a century-long war that nobody quite remembers the start of. Players will travel across the continent of Ianua, planning heists, battling monsters, uncovering ancient weapons, and foiling dark plots to unravel the mysteries behind the conflict. Along the way, players will face difficult moral dilemmas that will shape their experience.

After a successful Kickstarter that raised over $12,000, Aegis Force: The Scorian War is available now in Early Access on Steam for $24.99 (10% off at launch). Early Access launches with 6-8 hours of content, seven recruitable characters, regions with two cities to explore, with new story and general game content expected every 4-8 weeks alongside ongoing bug fixes, polish, and planned UI improvements.

As can be seen in the roadmap above, the team is targeting a full 1.0 in 2027, expanding the game to 20-30 hours of content. The full world map, UI improvements and additional character moves will also become accessible as development continues toward 1.0.

Zenahive is also working on bringing Aegis Force: The Scorian War to consoles, with more details to be shared in the future.

Speaking about the Early Access launch, Zenahive founder Christian Smith said: "Aegis Force: The Scorian War has been a passion project for our team over its two years of development, and we are incredibly excited to share with players what we’re creating and the story that we have to tell. We’ve been diligent in gathering and implementing player feedback from the early days of the development process, and we look forward to continuing doing so during the Early Access period so that players can help us shape the game into the best we can make it for the full launch. We feel that Aegis Force offers something unique with its art style and the blend of strategic battles with traditional JRPG style exploration.”
