The original Mother launches on Wii U Virtual Console as EarthBound Beginnings

At the revived Nintendo World Championships at this year's E3 event, Nintendo opened with a surprise appearance by Mother series's lead designer Shigesato Itoi, who revealed that the original Mother would finally be officially localized in English - nearly 26 years after its original Japanese release. As a prequel to Earthbound, the title will launch as Earthbound Beginnings, available on Wii U Virtual Console today.
