Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out December 1st, and there's a lengthy new trailer to celebrate that fact

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has become one of the most-desired games for RPG fans on the Nintendo Switch, and with good reason - while Xenoblade Chronicles X was a bit of an iffy entry in the series, the original Xenoblade on Wii is beloved for good reason - it's an absolutely amazing game.

Nintendo is getting fully behind this latest sequel in a big way, and they featured it prominently in the latest Nintendo Direct. There were three major announcements - here's what you need to know:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X releases on December 1st, 2017. This year! Yes!
  • The game is getting a special edition in both Europe and North America which features a steelbook, a soundtrack selection CD and a 200 page artbook.
  • There's also a limited edition Xenoblade Chronicles 2 themed Switch Pro Controller with an appropriate decal and color scheme.

Also, there's a massive new trailer. It's well worth watching that, so here it is - then we'll get into the rest.

As part of the announcement as mentioned above Nintendo revealed a Xenoblade 2 themed Switch Pro Controller and the Collector's Edition of the game. There's a US and European variant of the collector's edition with slightly different artwork, and both regions are getting the sweet pro controller. Here are images of those:
