Destiny 2's next expansion will reportedly be called Gods of Mars, out March 2018

It appears the cat is unintentionally out of the bag. According to Reddit user GodsofMarsLeak (subtle), the next expansion pack for Destiny 2 will be called Gods of Mars. This was revealed through an accidental listing of the expansion through the North American and Japanese PSN store pages.

According to the screenshots which you can find below, Gods of Mars will introduce a brand new locale called the Frigid Vale of Mars. You will be fighting alongside Ana Bray (sort of a bombshell for Destiny lore fans) to fight the villain Charlemagne. All the while, you will be working to free Rasputin and uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray.

Charlemagne was said to be one of the great Warminds, a  powerful artificial intelligence built by the ancient Powers of Mars during the Golden Age for strategic warfare. Charlemagne was also apparently supposed to appear in the original Destiny, but was scrapped before the final release.

Here's the full description:

Destiny 2 Expansion II: Gods of Mars sends your Guardian on a long journey to a brand new destination - the Frigid Vale of Mars, with an array of new missions, adventures, and enemies to fight. Charlemagne has reawoken on MArs and has imprisoned Rasputin within an ancient vault. Work with the elusive Ana Bray - long thought to be dead, in order to combat Charlemagne's Remnants, free Rasputin, and uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray.

You can also expect the usual cavalcade of new weapons, armor sets, story missions, multiplayer maps, cooperative activities and arenas, and more. It will also require at least 68GB of available hard drive space in order to download and install it.

Check out the screenshots below. It shows a March 2018 date in the US store, while the Japanese store shows May 2018.

Destiny 2: Gods of Mars Leaked Screenshots

UPDATE: Several users on the Reddit thread linked above have pointed out translation and graphical errors in the screenshots the user shared. Some are pointing out that the user just edited an existing leak. With all that being said, I would take this entire matter with a huge grain of salt for now.
