CyberConnect2 to announce their future plans on February 1

In an interview with Japanese game magazine Famitsu, Hiroshi Matsuyama, company president of CyberConnect2 (.hack, Asura's Wrath, Naruto games) has teased an announcement from the developer to be made on February 1, 2018.

CyberConnect2 has a "vision going forward" event planned for 2018, so this may very likely be that event. Recently, Matsuyama said that rather than reflecting on the last 20 years of the company's existence, they wanted to look forward to what they'll be doing the next 10 years.

Considering this was revealed by CyberConnect2 and not Bandai Namco may hint at this being an independent project. A couple years ago, a job listing hinted at a new open-world RPG from CC2 using Unreal Engine 4. Could this be that project? We'll find out in a month.

Thanks, Hachima.
