The World Ends With You: Final Remix coming to Nintendo Switch this year

The World Ends With You is something of a cult classic from back on the Nintendo DS, and fans have been crying out for a sequel for an absolute age now. It's a great little RPG with an amazing soundtrack and a brilliant sense of style, complete with character designs by Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura. While it's not quite a sequel, TWEWY fans can be happy at last: a new version of the game is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Being on the Switch means that the game's Nintendo DS touch-screen based controls remain intact for this new release, but the game has been upgraded with some gorgeous, crisp-looking visuals and new widescreen presentation.

You can also use the Joy-Con controllers for a new take on the game's combat, all-new for this version - and there'll also be a brand new scenario in this version of the game.

The game will launch later this year, and was announced in a surprise Nintendo Direct today.
