New character Misty and basic gameplay flow introduced in Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists

A couple of weeks has passed after Gust unveiled Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of the New Land, a town-building spinoff of their mainstay Atelier series where the protagonist Nelke is not an alchemist but a noble lady who is in charge of building a town that will be visited by legacy characters from the series.

Gust has released a new information batch for the game in both of the latest Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation magazine issues. We have compiled the essential information which you can read after the jump.

A brand-new character for this game has been introduced. Enter Misty Elroot (voiced in Japanese by Akira Sekine), Nelke's personal maid who grew up together with her since their childhood. Not only she can do all household activities, she also has high battle skills to protect her master. Misty has a cool personality and she doesn't show off her emotions often, but she is also known as a sharp critic; although she has a wicked tongue, what she says are correct. Misty has a strong feeling towards Nelke, and she devotes her all to serve her master.

The initial gameplay flow in Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists is also explained. The very first thing Nelke will have to do in this game is to open a shop and manage it. Money earned from the shop income will then be used to unlock more land and set up new buildings.

As Nelke's town develops, alchemists will come to visit and settle in the town, offering to help in alchemy and investigations. Nelke can travel outside fields for investigations to gather materials while being accompanied by other characters such as Misty and the alchemists. After returning back to town, Nelke can then ask alchemists to mix the materials into items that can be sold at shops for more profit. She can even give tasks to alchemists and other characters to run shops to generate more income on her stead.

When a character has entered the game, they will have their own stories that will also develop. There are multiple types of shops such as General Shop and Medicine Shop, and each character has different sets of shops which they are good or bad at managing. Each alchemist will also have a different repertoire of item recipes they can mix.

Fairies will also make an appearance in this game. They live in the Fairy Village which is located nearby Westwald. They had not been in contact with humans for a long time, but as Westwald grows larger, they eventually may help Nelke in developing her town.
