Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists will be released in Japan on December 13

Gust has, at long last, revealed the release date for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists in Japan. This game is a spinoff of Gust's long-running Atelier series where you play as Nelke von Lestamm, a noble who has been given a task to develop the Westwald village, located nearby the Granzweit tree, into a bustling city eventually. Although Nelke does not have the ability to perform alchemy, legacy Atelier series characters from Marie & Elie to Sophie & Lydie will come to visit and settle in the village, helping Nelke with their alchemy skills to research the Granzweit tree.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists will also have a limited Premium Box, where the PS4 & Switch editions are going to be sold at 10,800 yen plus tax (11,664 yen total; approx. $105). It comes with a visual book, a Sound Archives CD with 10 tracks, a B2-sized poster drawn by the game's illustrator NOCO, an A4-sized mini-metal clear poster, and a serial code to download a new costume for Nelke based on Atelier Ayesha's Wilbell Voll-Ersleid. This costume is planned to be made available as free DLC at a later date.

There is an even more expensive 20th Anniversary Box which is priced at 26,100 yen plus tax (28,188 yen total; approx. $255). In addition to all of the content in Premium Box, this luxurious package will also include a set of 50 badges of legacy Atelier series characters, an acrylic stand figure of Nelke, and an extra-large cloth poster with another new illustration from NOCO.

Gust has recently published a full-length promotion trailer for the game, which you can watch right below. They have also published a new information batch which explains activities that can be performed by Nelke in this game.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 13, 2018. The Western localization has also been confirmed; it will be out in Winter 2018, and the PS Vita version is being replaced with a PC Steam release.
