Bandai Namco announces Tales of Crestoria for smartphones

Bandai Namco has announced a new entry in the Tales of series -Tales of Crestoria - and it's coming to smartphone devices as a free-to-play entry. We should note before we get into this news story that a console entry of the series is also currently in development, so this is just one of many projects in the pipeline.

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu divulges more details about Bandai Namco's latest attempt to bring the popular RPG series to mobile. The story talks about a protagonist who has been dealing with a life plagued by crime and the only thing he lives for is the urge to protect someone who he considers precious to him.

Tomomi Tagawa will be serving as producer, while Yasutaka Nakata and Kamikaze Douga handled the main character visuals and the teaser videos you can find at the bottom of this article.

Those who are interested in the game can pre-register right now through the official website, with special bonuses being offered depending on the number of pre-registrants in the way of summoning tickets (yes, this is a gacha-style game).

Aside from that, Bandai Namco will be hosting a stage presentation during Tokyo Game Show on September 22. Check out the teaser clips below:
