Interactive comic bridges gap for PS3's Mass Effect 2

Jesse Houston, the director of Mass Effect 2's PlayStation 3 port schooled us by decimating all the rumors about what will and will not be included right out of the box.

First and foremost, since Mass Effect will not be appearing on the PS3 console, BioWare has been lent a hand by Dark Horse Comics.  DHC has created an interactive comic that will more or less outline the story for the first game and allow players to make major game-changing decisions along the way.

The comic will be exclusive to the PS3 version's Cerberus Network (which is included with a new purchase) for a time, but will eventually make its way to the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

Houston also quashed the rumors about extra missions being available in the new port, and stated that the "6 hours of bonus content" includes the three story pieces of DLC (Kasumi: Stolen Memory, Overlord, and Lair of the Shadow Broker), missions on the Cerberus Network (like Firewalker) and the interactive comic as well.  Sorry PlayStationites, no exclusive missions for you!

Other goodies that will come with the PS3 version are the Blood Dragon Armor (previously available in Mass Effect 2 with a new purchase of Dragon Age: Origins) and some free and paid DLC on the Cerberus Network, like the Aegis Pack and the Recon Operations Pack.

Good things do come to those who wait!
