NIS America to release Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen to North America and Europe in 2020 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita

NIS America has announced that they will bring Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen to North America and Europe in Early 2020 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita (digital-only). The game will feature Japanese voices.

For those unfamiliar, Utawarerumono originally released for PC in Japan back in 2002 as a visual novel, and has since spawned manga/anime adaptations, sequels, and more. The original VN was never officially released in English, although a fan-translation is available.

Prelude to the Fallen is a remake of the original storyline and released last year in Japan. This new version, a Strategy RPG/VN hybrid, will be the first official English release of the Utawarerumono origin story. Two sequels - Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth - released for PlayStation 4 and Vita in English in 2017, localized by Atlus USA.

Day One Edition

A special launch edition of the PlayStation 4 version will be available at retailers. Called the 'Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Origins Edition', this package includes the game disc/case, a "Hymns for the Fallen" Soundtrack, and a "Archives of Yamayura" softcover art book.
