Yakuza 5 HD to release in Japan June 2019
Yesterday Famitsu released more information on Yakuza 5 HD, and similarly to the HD re-releases of Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 this had been teased last year. The official Ryu ga Gotoku YouTube account also released a trailer to showcase the visual upgrades for Yakuza 5 HD (which you can watch below). As it stands nothing new has been added to the game, unlike the re-release of Yakuza 3 which had featured new additions to the Hostess Clubs and Yakuza 4 with the re-casting of the original actor for the character Tanimura Masayoshi. Additionally, screenshots and character summaries have been added to the official Japanese website for Yakuza 5, providing information for those who may be unfamiliar with the cast of both new and returning characters. Yakuza 5 HD will be releasing for the PS4 in Japan June 20, 2019. There has been no mention of a Western release of the HD titles as of yet. You can find more of our coverage on the Yakuza series here.
