First gameplay footage for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Falcom debuted the first gameplay footage for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox during Dengeki Game Fes 2019 on a livestream, showing a few minutes of characters exploring the city of Barduk.

A recording of the gameplay snippets has been spliced together below from YouTube user bambooshoots.

As previously detailed in Famitsu magazine, Ys IX takes place at the furthest point on the series' timeline in a large prison city called Barduk. Much of the game's focus has been placed on traversal in a spacious three-dimensional field, such as running on walls, flying through the air, or using grapple points to move around - all seen in the brief video. Three characters are seen: a cat-like female character, a male with black wings, and series' hero Adol who appears slightly different than usual this time around.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is set to release this Fall in Japan for PlayStation 4.
