Disco Elysium planned for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2020

In both interviews, Kurvitz discusses how he believes the game will translate well to consoles because the game doesn't require a lot of precision clicking, as it is mostly played through dialogue. In speaking with USGamer, he states, "It plays really, really nicely on a controller because [...] you don't need to click around and give specific tactical commands, which the controller isn't very good at."

In speaking with The Escapist, Kurvitz mentions that "We need to be very hands-on with the design of that. We don’t want to hire a porting company."

The interviews also reveal plans to release the game in Chinese and more European languages. Kurvitz is also working on translating his book Sacred and Terrible Air, the effective source material for the game, to English.
