Tetracast - Episode 185: New Year's Catch Up

Welcome to the latest edition of the Tetracast, RPG Site's regular, seemingly weekly, podcast!

In our first podcast episode of 2021, after some brief recap of our 2020 awards, we jump right into our impressions of the newly-released demos for Monster Hunter Rise and Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Many of us have been playing games over the break, so we each take turns going over what we've been occupied with. George has some mixed thoughts towards Cyberpunk 2077 as the crew discusses its messy launch. Adam touches on Romancing SaGa 2's interesting, obtuse, and compelling mechanics. Bryans jumps out of his comfort zone to try out 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. James has final thoughts on Labyrinth of Galleria, and has started his journey into single-player Final Fantasy with the very first game. Josh wraps up the first section talking about Princess Connect Re Dive, Sakura Kakumei, and Super Robot Wars.

In the topical section of the podcast, NieR: Automata has sold 5 million copies, plus updates to Stranger of Sword City Revisited and a PC port for Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen. Acquire has announced a new dungeon crawler RPG in Labyrinth of Zangetsu, and Outriders was delayed to April 1. For Type-Moon fans, a remake of Tsukihime was announced. Finally, new iOS/Android ports were revealed for The Alliance Alive HD Remastered & Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, the latter of which is apparently not a straight port.
