New Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade screenshots introduce more new characters

Square Enix has released new screenshots and information detailing characters newly appearing in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Most of the characters shown today come from Avalanche HQ, the main group that prefers a more innocent-friendly approach to fight against Shinra, compared to Barret's more extreme cell. The other character introduced here is Weiss, who is actually returning after having previously appeared in the 2006 title Dirge of Cerberus.

In the English press release, Square Enix has also revealed the English voice cast for the newly-added Intergrade characters. While we have already seen biographies and Japanese voice casts for Yuffie and Sonon from a prior Japanese press release, Square Enix reveals that the duo will be voiced in English by Suzie Yeung and Aleks Le, respectively.

The new Japanese press release also contained biographies for the rest of the new character cast, and we have translated those right below. New screenshots and character renders can be found in the gallery, and we also have details about Yuffie's combat style during the new content, which is titled "Episode INTERmission".

Avalanche HQ

The largest faction in the Avalanche Group, which performs activities against Shinra based on the Cosmo Canyon teachings. While Barret's branch cell chose more extreme measures like exploding Mako Reactors, the HQ intends to liberate Midgar from Shinra Company while still protecting citizen lives. They joined the operation to usurp the Ultimate Materia in order to build a relationship with Wutai's interim government.

Zhijie (voiced in Japanese by Akira Igarashi and English by Griffin Puatu)
A Wutaian living in Midgar, he acts as a communication bridge between Avalanche HQ and Wutai's interim government. He survived a fluttering life by using his fast mouth and feet as weapons. He welcomes the shinobi Yuffie and guides her through the Sector 7 slums.

Nayo (voiced in Japanese by Akane Fujita and English by Ashley Boettcher)
A slum-born woman who's also a member of Avalanche HQ. She infiltrates the Sector 7 slums to keep an eye on the branch cell's movements. She received a request from Wutai's interim government to support the operation. She has prepared fake IDs for Yuffie's party to access the Plate.

Billy Bob (voiced in Japanese by Kenichi Hoshino and English by David Goldstein)
A slum-born man who's also a member of Avalanche HQ. He is the most experienced among the members who infiltrated the Sector 7 slums, but he has a loose and easygoing personality without any pretensions. As a heavy drinker who won't get inebriated no matter how much he has drunk, he seems to gather information from taverns.

A slum-born man who's also a member of Avalanche HQ. A simple youth who is also the youngest among the members who infiltrated the Sector 7 slums. As everyone's little brother, he is both toyed with and loved at the same time. While joining the operation, he also puts his passion into the popular game, Condor Fort.

Deepground

Weiss (voiced in Japanese by Jouji Nakata and English by Daman Mills)
The pure white emperor ruling over Shinra’s top-secret underground research center Deepground. Despite having superhuman strength and charisma, he is brutal and atrocious. He is so strong that he had to be restrained at the throne in the deepest area when there are no experiments. He is silently waiting for an opportunity to rebel against the inhumane management.

Players can look forward to utilizing Yuffie’s signature battle style in combat while they infiltrate the shadowy Shinra Corporation to steal a powerful materia and restore glory to her homeland, as she shines in both close and long-range combat. As a member of Wutai's elite corps of ninja operatives, her Unique Ability allows her to throw her iconic massive throwing star at enemies. During that time, she is able to attack with long-range ninjutsu that can be augmented with her Elemental Ninjutsu ability, which can change its affinity to fire, ice, lightning or wind.
