Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Ditto Tera Raid boss will have maxed stats

The Pokemon Company has announced the next set of Tera Raid battles for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, and they'll be focused on Ditto. According to the game's official website, the Ditto Tera Raid battles start on April 7, 2023 at 9:00 AM Japan time, and continue through April 10th.

The Ditto Tera Raid will be a 5-Star battle, and feature a Ditto boss with varying Tera types. Additionally, succeeding at the Tera Raid will allow players to net their very own Ditto, one that comes with a minimum of five maxed-out IVs (or stat categories). For veteran players or players starting out with Pokemon breeding in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the raid presents an opportunity to gain an effective "starter" creature, one capable of passing down optimized stats to a desired Pokemon.

For those unfamiliar with Tera Raids, they're a feature introduced with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Tera Raids allow multiple players to group up and take on a uniquely powerful Pokemon, but unlike other generations' raid battles, Tera Raids are centered around the Paldea region's Terastal phenomenon. Tera Raid bosses will have a Tera type, and other unique qualities. Additionally, Tera Raids can also star Pokemon that aren't normally obtainable in the base game, due to not being native to the region. These often include fan-favorite Pokemon like Charizard. Special Tera Raids are also sometimes held to commemorate a seasonal occasion or holiday. For example, the Valentine's Day 2023 Tera Raid battle featured Tandemaus, the Couple Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC will launch in Fall of 2023.
