Cadence of Hyrule Game Trial playable for free until May 7, 2023

If you're an active Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, you can try out Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda until May 7, 2023. That means the full game is downloadable for free for a limited time. Check it out on the game's Nintendo eShop store page.

Players who want to buy the game after trying it will be able to do so for 50% off. They'll also retain any save data they generate. Finally, the new game trial includes "Missions", which can net those who accomplish them up to 100 Platinum Points, which are redeemable for rewards.

Based on the rhythm-RPG hybrid Crypt of the NecroDancer, Cadence of Hyrule blends the series' signature rhythm-based dungeon crawling with the setting, aesthetic, and mechanics of games in The Legend of Zelda series.

Players can play as Link, Princess Zelda, and Cadence, Crypt of the NecroDancer's protagonist. The game features remixed tunes from The Legend of Zelda games, as well as enemies and locations from the series, like Lynels and Hyrule soldiers. Similarly, iconic Zelda series items like the bow, hook shot, and boomerang make an appearance. In RPG Site's official review of the game, Elizabeth called the a game a fun time, and said that it "isn't an average Zelda spin-off."

Cadence of Hyrule is available on Nintendo Switch, while the Game Trial version will be free until May 7, 2023. A playable demo version is also available and will last past the Game Trial.
