13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has over 1 million units sold worldwide

Atlus announced that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide. The company did not explicitly confirm whether the milestone figure resulted from a combination of physical and digital sales on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, they did mention that the game had received multiple accolades following the initial PlayStation 4 release in November 2019. Atlus has also seen continued support from the fans even after they released the Nintendo Switch port in April 2022.

The last time Atlus shared a sales milestone for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim was in March 2021, when it reached 400,000 units sold on the PS4 alone. It therefore took 3 years and 9 months since the initial PS4 release, 2 years and 5 months since the last milestone, and 1 year and 4 months since the Switch port's release for the title to reach the million mark.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a visual novel adventure game with real-time strategy elements. The player follows the story of 13 Japanese high school students from multiple eras who are chosen to pilot the Sentinel mechs and defend the world from a Kaiju invasion. While the Nintendo Switch port added a couple of new features like new armaments for every character's Sentinels, the original PS4 version later received a parity update that added them as well.

Vanillaware's Yukiko Hirai has drawn a new illustration to commemorate the million milestone, which you can also view right below. Atlus is also celebrating the achievement by putting the digital Switch version on a 50% sale in the Japanese Nintendo eShop until September 26.
