Darkest Dungeon II traverses to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 15

Red Hook Studios have announced that "grim turn-based roadtrip RPG" Darkest Dungeon II will be arriving on July 15 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders on the PlayStation platforms have already begun.

The title initially released as an early access title for Epic Games Store in October 2021, and wouldn't see a full PC release until May 2023 for both Epic Games Store and Steam.

For its upcoming release on PlayStation, the base game and 'The Binding Blade' DLC, can both be bought together through the Oblivion bundle, though they will be sold separately as well. It will support cross-buy across PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, so people will only have to purchase them once.

Red Hook Studios has announced that Darkest Dungeon II, their grim turn-based roadtrip RPG, is arriving to Playstation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 15th, 2024. Following the PC launch in 2023, players will soon be able to embark on the treacherous journey aboard the stagecoach. The base game as well as the DLC ‘The Binding Blade’ and the Oblivion bundle - containing the base game and DLC - will be available as cross-buy across PlayStation 4 and 5.

Darkest Dungeon II challenges players to manage not only the physical well-being of their heroes but also their mental fortitude as they confront the horrors of the road ahead. Players must carefully navigate a world teetering on the brink of collapse, all while battling their own inner demons, as every decision they make carries weighty consequences.

"We have been very eager to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players," said Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios. "The game feels great with DualSense Controller–we’ve been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door, or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. Darkest Dungeon I was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel."

In addition to the main game, the DLC “The Binding Blade” will also be available to PlayStation players. Key features of this content pack are the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss The Warlord.

Darkest Dungeon II invites players to embark on a thrilling journey through five campaigns, known as “Confessions”, each featuring their own terrifying boss and pervasive mechanics. Including the Duelist and the Crusader, players can now choose from a total roster of 14 playable heroes. Other features include the extensive metagame progression hub “The Altar of Hope”, 10 companion pets with different run-defining properties and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of the Radiant and Infernal Flame equipable items, for those who want less or more challenge.

Darkest Dungeon II arrives on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on July 15th, 2024. Darkest Dungeon II and the Oblivion Bundle will be available for pre-order from April 18th, 2024.
