Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom and Link's Awakening get Switch 2 updates

Nintendo has begun pushing out updates for many of its own games today like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom today with others that were previously announced like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. A surprise update has also gone live for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

These updates aim to improve compatibility for the games on Nintendo Switch 2 with some of them getting visual and performance enhancements or even new features. You can find all the Nintendo Switch 2 free update patch notes below via Nintendo. 

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening are now available on Nintendo Switch. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launch on June 5.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild version 1.8.0 update patch notes for Switch 2

  • Added support for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
  • Added support for the Portuguese (Brazil) system language setting. 
    • Because Portuguese is not a supported voice language, if you select the Match System Settings option in the game, the voice content will use English.
  • Several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.
