Super Robot Wars Y 2.5th trailer shows the villains and rivals while revealing more gameplay features
Bandai Namco's Kota Toma has published the new 2.5th trailer for Super Robot Wars Y at the June 2025 SRW Series Info Stream. This trailer reveals some of the villains and rival characters from the featured titles, along with more details on the gameplay features.
Some of the villains and rivals introduced in the trailer include Shaddiq Zenelli (in the Michaelis) from Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, Ulube Ishikawa (in the Walter Gundam) from G Gundam, Keith Aero Windermere (in the Draken III) from Macross Delta, and Gavlet Gablae (in the Bat-Shu) from L-Gaim. The segment also nonchalantly confirms the sortie of G Gundam's Rain Mikamura in the Rising Gundam, which did not appear in Super Robot Wars T.
One of the biggest reveals in this trailer is the original villain, who will be voiced by Ryota Suzuki. Pending an official English version of the trailer, we'd transliterate his name to Rae Savers and his mech unit to Vai Lumina.

The same trailer also adds more details to the game's features, which have also been since added to the official webpage. For example, the Assist Link crew will only support 3 slots at the beginning, but these will gradually increase via game progression. In addition, each assist character will be grouped into elemental colors (Red, Blue, or Green). Fielding assistants with the same color group will give bonus synergies, with effects increasing for 3 and 6 characters placed. The available screenshots show that the Red synergy will raise the morale of all ally pilots at the start of a stage, while the Green one will raise the maximum morale & SP stats.
The optional Auto Battle feature from Super Robot Wars 30 will return here, along with a new Auto Save slot. In addition, SRW Y will have a new STG Memory feature, which is essentially a skill tree that gradually unlocks buffs for the entire squad. You can gradually unlock the buffs by spending the MXP (mission experience points) gathered from clearing stages. The webpage also detailed that the skill tree will have these colors with specific buffs:
- Red: Attack stat & morale
- Blue: Defense & evasion stats, along with SP gauge
- Green: Buffs to money & experience gain, as well as Assist Link effects
A standalone version of the new trailer is also now available on Bandai Namco's Japanese YouTube channel, and you can find it right below. Super Robot Wars Y will be released for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam simultaneously worldwide on August 28.
