Square Enix releases Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Special Movie

It is now July 7 in Japan and Square Enix has released a special movie to celebrate 25 years of Final Fantasy IX.

This video is available now on YouTube. Final Fantasy IX originally launched on July 7, 2000 for the PlayStation in Japan. Alongside the release of this special movie, Square Enix has a social media post asking fans what FFIX means to them. This follows the recently launched 25th Anniversary website with merchandise like the Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale and more available to pre-order.

When FF9 turned twenty years old, we caught up with some of the key development staff to have them reflect on its legacy. Alex also wrote about how he feels about Final Fantasy IX 15 years on here.

Final Fantasy IX's newest port is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
