Kazutaka Kodaka co-establishes Neoneon Tribe doujin circle to continue Tribe Nine's story
Kazutaka Kodaka revealed that he has co-established Neoneon Tribe as a new doujin circle that aims to write continuations to the story of Tribe Nine. The current head of Too Kyo Games established this circle together with 89Produce's Shuhei Yamaguchi and Chronogate's Katsunori Suginaka.
Even though Tribe Nine is already ceasing to exist as an online free-to-play game this November, the franchise's copyright is still owned by Akatsuki Games as its publisher. This is why Kodaka's team has to earn consent from the publisher to finish the story for the short-lived game via the unofficial doujin circle way.
We have translated the original Japanese announcement of the doujin circle's establishment as follows:
On this occasion, the following three names—Kazutaka Kodaka, Shuhei Yamaguchi, and Katsunori Suginaka—have established the doujin circle Neoneon Tribe.
This circle will aim to perform creation activities to inherit and expand Tribe Nine through unofficial and non-profit derivative works.
We hope for Tribe Nine to become a title that will still be talked about for a long time in the future. We will work on creations by focusing on the continuation of stories untold in the game and the reconstructions of existing stories. We are first aiming to complete the tales in the form of a Web Story, but we are contemplating a structure where it won't be a simple reading material.
While earnestly accepting that we are in an unofficial position, we are hoping to assemble a new "story" together with all the users.
Finally, we would like to offer our deepest gratitude to Akatsuki Games Inc. which has understood and given consent to our activities.

Kazutaka Kodaka has also posted a clarification in English on his personal X account. You can also read it right below.
This is purely a non-profit fan project, but I’ve decided to finish telling the story of TRIBE NINE to the end.
I understand that this may not be the ending everyone truly hoped for—but if I can create a compelling story, maybe it will spark something new. I’m aiming to make it that good.
It’ll be released for free, so I hope you’ll read it. I’m also thinking carefully about how to present it.
I promise you this: I won’t let TRIBE NINE end in a way that makes loving it feel like a mistake or something to be ashamed of.It’s been over 20 years since I’ve done creative work without receiving any compensation, but if I’m doing this, I’ll give it my all.
Well, I’ve been wanting a hobby anyway, so I’ve decided this TRIBE NINE fan project will be it.
For those concerned: I’ll be working on this during my free time or days off, so it won’t interfere with my actual job. No worries there.Since this is a non-profit endeavor, translations may be difficult—I may seek the help of volunteers in the future. If so, I’ll make an official announcement when the time comes.
This time, I’m offering this story to you for free.
But, if there happens to be someone out there thinking, “I still really want to support you financially!”—well, buying Hundred Line or its merch sends revenue our way! 😄
Just putting that out there loud and clear!!
