Octopath Traveler 0 resolution and frame rate targets revealed for PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, Switch, PS4, and PC

Square Enix has updated the official Octopath Traveler 0 website in Japan to go over the resolution and frame rate targets per platform.

The specifications part of the Octopath Traveler 0 website also goes over the town-building limits per platform. As per the specifications page from Square Enix, the Switch 2 version will have the same targets as the PS4 version. I've included the resolution and frame rate targets per platform in the table below via the website:

Platform Resolution Frame Rate Town-building
PS5 Up to 4K Up to 120fps 500
Xbox Series X Up to 4K Up to 120fps 500
Switch 2 Up to 1080p Up to 60fps 400
PS4 Up to 1080p Up to 60fps 400
Xbox Series S Up to 1080p Up to 120fps 500
Switch Up to 720p Up to 30fps 250
PC As per display 30, 60, 120fps 500

The specifications page does not clarify if the 1080p and 60fps is for both docked and handheld or just handheld on Switch 2. It also mentions that the game will run at 60fps if the console is not connected to a 120hz screen. The PC version is also capped to 16:9 aspect ratio.

Octopath Traveler 0 is set to release on December 4 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
