Nioh 3 release date confirmed on February 6, 2026
Koei Tecmo has confirmed the full release date for Nioh 3 at the pre-TGS September 2025 State of Play. The game will now be available on February 6, 2026.
The new trailer also confirms that Nioh 3 will not be stuck in the Sengoku era. The game's storyline will have the protagonist travel through a variety of eras like the Edo period and Heian period. They can even meet Queen Himiko, who reigned between the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
As of this writing, Koei Tecmo has still yet to publish the Japanese voiceover trailer on their own Japanese channel, so it is still only available on the Japanese State of Play stream. Meanwhile, Sony has uploaded the standalone English trailer on the PlayStation channel, which you can also find right below.
Update 1: Koei Tecmo has also uploaded the standalone Japanese trailer while sharing an English press release. You can find the new trailers and descriptions below.
Update 2: The Official TGS 2025 stream provided a bit more context on the main characters. The hosts heavily implied that the protagonist Takechiyo and villain Kunimatsu are based on the same historical figures, as Takechiyo is the childhood name of the third Tokugawan shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu, and Kunimatsu is one of the childhood names of Tokugawa Tadanaga. In addition, Queen Himiko will also make an anachronistic appearance in the Sengoku era.
