Publisher Dangen Entertainment and developer Friends of Safety have released a free demo for Kingdom of Night, available now on the game's Steam page.

The '80s-inspired pixel-art action RPG was originally announced in December 2020, which was followed by a long period of relative silence until a new gameplay trailer emerged in November 2024. The game is set to release for PC in 2025, with console details to follow at a later date.

Developer Friends of Safety (formerly Black Seven Studios) and publisher Dangen Entertainment are excited to announce that the first public demo of Kingdom of Night is now live on Steam as of 7:00 AM Pacific Time, September 23, 2025.

The demo offers players a full vertical slice of the game, delivering an authentic taste of the action-RPG’s mix of coming-of-age drama, cosmic horror, and 1980s nostalgia. With an average completion time of around 1.5 hours, the demo gives fans freedom to explore, experiment, and soak in the dark streets of Miami, Arizona.

Here’s what players can expect in the demo:

  • A complete slice of Kingdom of Night, straight from the full game.
  • Five classes to experiment with: Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer, or Sorcerer.
  • A cast of iconic characters who will play key roles later in the story.
  • Freedom to roam the streets of Miami at their own pace, with save slots included (though demo saves will not carry over into the full release).

The demo drops players right into the demon-infested streets of Miami to see what makes Kingdom of Night a ride worth remembering.

The full release of Kingdom of Night on PC is planned for Q4 2025. Please stay tuned for an exact date announcement. Console versions to be announced at a later date.
