
NHK Symphony Orchestra will hold Pokemon and Dragon Quest IV concerts in Japan in 2026
The NHK Symphony Orchestra has revealed a schedule of concerts that they will hold across 2026 to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Among the many concerts scheduled, two of them will be particularly focused on video games; namely, Dragon Quest IV and the Pokemon franchise.
The Dragon Quest IV orchestra concert will happen first. NHK Symphony Orchestra has so far scheduled Friday, February 27, at 07:00 PM for the concert that will take place with Tatsuya Shimono as the conductor at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. However, the group also added a fine print that they may add more venues to this schedule.

Meanwhile, the Pokemon Classic Concert Tour already has a more elaborate schedule set in 4 different cities across Japan. The group, with Kanade Yokoyama as the conductor, will perform in 4 cities consecutively between August 21 and 24.
The schedule known so far for the Pokemon orchestra concerts by the NHK Symphony Orchestra is as follows:

- Saturday, August 22, at 03:30 PM JST - Kyoto Concert Hall
- Sunday, August 23, at 02:00 PM JST - The Symphony Hall in Osaka
