New Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 trailer details the Lasombra vampire clan
The latest trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 introduces players to the Lasombra, the fifth of the game's playable vampire clan choices.
Unlike the Brujah, Banu Haqim, Tremere and Ventrue, though, the Lasombra option was not originally slated for inclusion in the base release of Bloodlines 2. After feedback from players, though, Paradox Interactive adjusted the Bloodlines 2 base game package to include both the Lasombra and Toreador clan options. Now all players will be able to choose from six clans instead of four come launch day.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Lasombra Trailer
The trailer wastes no time establishing via Fabian's commentary that the Lasombra are not exactly insiders among the vampires of Seattle's Camarilla. Indeed, when the player character, Phyre, was last awake, the Lasombra were active enemies of the Camarilla, and a major part of the Sabbat, an opposing faction dedicated to establishing open vampire supremacy over the world. Since then, though, it seems that many of the Lasombra have defected from the Sabbat to the Camarilla, for reasons that may be expanded upon as players get deeper into the game. Onda, the Lasombra trainer, appears to resent Phyre's intrusion into the scene, treating them as an unwelcome and presumptuous interloper that's out of touch with the current state of Seattle, and of vampire-kind.
The trailer also showes off Phyre's Lasombra-associated vampiric Disciplines. In keeping with the Lasombra's "Shadows" nickname, most of them Phyre's shadow to bind enemies, teleport into an enemy's shadow, and even trap them in a shadow realm of sorts.
- "Arms of Ahriman": Trap the opponent in a straight line with your shadow.
- "Shadow Step": Step into your shadow and emerge from the shadow of your target.
- "Glimpse of Oblivion": Causes an individual to become afraid, fleeing from their allies.
- "Enter Oblivion": Enter a dimension where only you and those touched by your shadow exist.
- "Stygian Shroud" - Clan Perk: Prevents mortals from attacking you while feeding.
Also in keeping with the fact that the Lasombra have, for vampires, unusually deep ties with organized religion (particularly the Christian churches), a Lasombra Phyre will also have access to a priest outfit, which unlocks unique interactions with NPCs when worn.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 21, 2025.
