A stellar new trailerĀ is now out for Sigma Star Saga DX! This enhanced version of the cult-classic shoot-'em-up/RPG, which was originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2005, is on its way to modern platforms via Limited Run Games' Carbon Engine with porting handled by Mighty Rabbit Studios. Showcasing the game's unique mix of top-down exploration and side-scrolling space-shooter battles, as well as the various tools and 20,000+ weapon combinations players can acquire during their intergalactic infiltration of the Krill Empire, the trailer provides a first look at one of several player-selectable HD border artworks, as well as an early preview of the game's new title song.
Other upgrades to Sigma Star Saga DX compared to the original 2005 version include an improved map, decreased random encounter rate, rebalanced EXP system, refined dialogue, additional save points, and assorted bug fixes and quality-of-life updates (all of which are also included in the previously offered GBA cartridge version). Sigma Star Saga DX is now expected to launch digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam in early 2026, with preorders for the physical Switch and PS5 versions planned for a similar timeframe.
