Caves of Qud for Nintendo Switch delayed to January 2026

Caves of Qud from Freehold Games and Kitfox Games has been delayed to January 2026 for Nintendo Switch after originally being announced for a Q4 2025 release in a Nintendo Indie World showcase.

The science fantasy turn-based roguelike with RPG elements was in early access on PC before it finally hit 1.0 and launched in December 2024. The Nintendo press release for the Indie World Showcase had the Switch release listed as a "system exclusive" launch. You can find Freehold Games and Kitfox Games' delay announcement below:

Hey friends!

Unfortunately we are delaying our Switch release til January. Port isn't perfect yet, & given Qud's long dev timeline, what matters most to us is releasing the best possible ver of the game, even if it means a delay

We're confident on the Jan timeline, so we'll see you on Switch soon

Caves of Qud is now available on PC (Steam). It launches in January 2026 for Nintendo Switch.
