Blue Archive producer's letter hints at Steam Deck and controller support on PC, reduced update gap

In a letter released ahead of the Lunar New Year, Blue Archive Producer Kim YongHa promised further improvements for the game's PC client of the game. The letter also promised new events, and a faster pace of updates.

Following a content review-induced delay, the PC version of Blue Archive launched via Steam, allowing players to play the game outside of mobile devices. Kim's letter promised further improvements to the PC client, including official support for both Steam Deck play and controllers. Blue Archive is currently playable on the Steam Deck, but must be controlled using the touchpads and touchscreen to move a virtual mouse cursor.

In addition, Kim hinted at more upcoming in-game story events, including "To Whom Art Belongs," starring new playable Students from the in-game Wildhunt Art Academy. Further limited-time events starring the Red Winter Publishing Department, Hyakkiyako Ninjutsu Research Club, and a magical girl-themed event featuring the Trinity Vigilante Crew were also teased. Early February 2026 also saw the launch of new main story chapters, including the first chapter of Vol. 6, "Oratorio of Days Gone By," starring the members of Arius Squad, and a new chapter of the Decagrammaton storyline.

The content additions are part of an initiative by developer Nexon Games to further close the gap between the original Japanese-language edition of Blue Archive and its Global and Korean versions. Currently, Blue Archive Global operates on a roughly six-month delay from the Japanese edition. The development team aims to reduce that gap to three months, and is working to adjust the pace of new events without overwhelming players with too much new content at once.

Blue Archive is available on iOS, Android, and PC.
