Shiren the Wanderer series sales surpassed 3 million copies worldwide

Spike Chunsoft announced that the Shiren the Wanderer series has surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide, right as the series is having its 30th anniversary celebrations. This number combines the sales for all of the series' entries released on various platforms.

We have previously reported on how the series' latest 6th mainline entry, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, had sold 200,000 units in the first two weeks in Japan following its release in January 2024. In an interview with Famitsu the following year in January 2025, Spike Chunsoft staff members have since updated the number to 300,000 worldwide, although over 90% of the sales still came from Japan.

Meanwhile, the 5th entry (The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate) is known to have over 500,000 units sold worldwide as of late 2022.

Both of the aforementioned 5th and 6th Shiren entries are widely available worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is also available on iOS and Android. Further sales increases are thus expected to be contributed from these.
