Shinra Archaeology Cut is now fully compatible with the new Final Fantasy VII release on Steam and GOG

Shinra Archaeology Department has announced that its Shinra Archeology Cut is now fully compatible with the new version of Final Fantasy VII on both Steam and GOG.

This new version of Final Fantasy VII released late last month for both Steam alongside GOG. Alongside the Shinra Archaeology Cut mod bringing in optional restored cut content, a new translation, and more, the 7th Heaven mod manager also fully supports the new Steam and GOG releases. If you aren't familiar with the mod and Shinra Archaeology Department, read my interview with the team here. You can find screenshots of the mod in action below:

If you haven't kept up with it, this new version of Final Fantasy VII features 3x speed mode, the ability to turn off encounters, autosave, battle enhancements, and more. The original version on Steam has been renamed to Final Fantasy VII - 2013 Edition and delisted. If you owned the prior release on Steam, this new one should be available in your library.

Final Fantasy VII is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC platforms.
