Fate/Extra Record delayed indefinitely and Bandai Namco steps down as its publisher

Type-Moon and Bandai Namco have announced that Fate/Extra Record is delayed indefinitely. In addition, Bandai Namco has also stepped down as the publisher of the upcoming Fate/Extra remake.

For the record, Type-Moon Studio BB first revealed the remake project in 2020, and Bandai Namco would later pick it up in August 2024 while announcing its initial release window in 2025. But right on Fate/Extra's 15th anniversary day in July 2025, the game was delayed to Spring 2026, and this further delay was announced right before we enter the targeted season.

Type-Moon has also clarified that Fate/Extra Record is still under development. The company is now searching for a new publisher for this game, and its new release window will be announced later on.

You can find our translations for the delay announcements of Fate/Extra Record from both Type-Moon and Bandai Namco right below.

Type-Moon's Announcement

Thank you very much for your patronage on our company's games as always.

Regarding Fate/Extra Record, which was planned for release in Spring 2026, following discussions with Notes and Bandai Namco Entertainment, we have decided to perform reconsiderations that include a change in the development structure. In accordance to that, to take future expansions into account, we have also decided to change the publisher.

Due to these dealings, we are postponing the release timeframe.
The development is still being continued, and the new publisher and release timeframe will be announced when they have been confirmed.
