SaGa series illustrator Satoshi Kuramochi left Square Enix in February 2026 and is now going freelance

Satoshi Kuramochi announced via his own social media account that he had left Square Enix at the end of February 2026. The illustrator also implied that he is now working as a freelancer.

During his tenure in Square Enix, Kuramochi had been best known for his works in the SaGa series. Some of the notable titles he had worked on include Imperial SaGa, Romancing SaGa Re;Universe, and SaGa Scarlet Grace.

Shortly after making the announcement, Kuramochi added that he was involved in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy in addition to the SaGa series. He also specified that this particular illustration celebrating the game's release was the very last one he had drawn for his tenure in the company.
