1997 Japanese MS-DOS RPG Amel Broat is getting a remake for Nintendo Switch on April 30

PLiCy has revealed that they will release Amel Broat for Nintendo Switch on April 30. The studio has also set up a page for the game on the Japanese Nintendo eShop, where it is immediately available for digital pre-orders.

The original MS-DOS version was released for free, but this new Switch remake will have a price of ¥3,980 (although there is an introductory sale at ¥3,383 until May 13). This is because there is a lot of effort being made for this remake. In addition to 2.5D graphics for general gameplay and 3D with anime shading for important cutscenes, the original creator Shou is also remaking all 57 tracks of the game's soundtrack with a synthesizer.

The remake will also have an all-new additional storyline. In addition to the original protagonist Arya, there will be a new alternate protagonist in Tine. The latter originally lived as the imperial princess Celestina, but she was executed by an order from the emperor, and she was later resurrected as Tine with forbidden magic. All main and sub story episodes in this remake will also have full voiceovers in Japanese.

You can find the official trailer and screenshots for the upcoming Switch remake of Amel Broat right below. The Japanese Nintendo eStore page indicates that this remake will be available not only in Japanese but also in English.
