Sakuna of Rice and Ruin: Hinuka's Traversing Spirit Tale shuts down on July 27, PC Steam release also canceled
Toho Games has announced that they will end their services forĀ Sakuna of Rice and Ruin: Hinuka's Traversing Spirit Tale on July 27 at 16:59 JST. The publisher is also gradually scaling down microtransactions for this free-to-play game; on April 27 at 17:00 JST, they will limit purchases to only the 160-yen gem pack. All microtransactions will end on May 28 at 10:59 JST, and the publisher will also hold a refund session to players with Japanese domestic bank accounts after the game's closure.
The mobile game had still only run for just over 2 months following its launch earlier this year on February 5, but with this announcement, it will only have a total lifespan of 5 months and 22 days.
This free-to-play title was also slated to appear on PC via Steam, albeit with a hard region lock for Japan only. The publisher also confirmed in this announcement that they have canceled the PC Steam release as well.
Toho Games has also published a schedule for the remainder of the game's lifespan. The final major content updates will appear throughout May.
