.hack//G.U. 20th anniversary gets celebrated with a new illustration and merchandise
CyberConnect2 has launched the 20th anniversary celebrations for the .hack//G.U. series, as based on the initial release of .hack//G.U. Vol.1//Rebirth for PlayStation 2 in Japan exactly 20 years ago on May 18, 2006. The company is gradually publishing celebratory illustrations from their staff members, but the first one in particular is also getting more features.
This illustration is particularly drawn by Seiichiro Hosokawa, the original main character designer of the .hack//G.U. series. It features the series' main characters who also host the Eight Phases; namely Haseo, Atoli, Kuhn, Yata, Sakubo, Endrance, Pi, and Ovan.
The same illustration is also being made into a multipurpose mat, sized at 60x35 cm. It is being sold for ¥3,850 on CC2 Store International, which means it is also available to order worldwide via the WorldShopping widget. (As a side note, CC2 also announced a book fair featuring discounted .hack series books, but this takes place on the Japan-exclusive version of CC2 Store.)
In addition, CyberConnect2 also announced that the new anniversary artwork will be featured in the CyberConnect2 Exhibitions that will be gradually held in all 47 prefectures of Japan. The company has so far confirmed plans for the first 6 prefectures as follows:
- Fukuoka --- One Fukuoka Conference - Hall Presentation Room 1 --- June 6-7
- Kumamoto --- Sakuramachi Kumamoto - 2F Event Space --- June 13-14
- Nagasaki --- Dejima Messe Nagasaki - Conference Room 102 --- June 20-21
- Tokyo --- Seiby Shibuya - A Tower 7F --- June 27-28
- Shizuoka --- Shizuoka Parco 3F - Parco Factory --- July 4-5
- Yamanashi --- Yamanashi Plaza - East Open Space --- June 18-19
