Tales of Eternia Remastered launches on October 16 for PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2 and Steam

During the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, Bandai Namco announced Tales of Eternia Remastered, set to release on October 16 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). The remaster will be developed by TOSE, who previously worked on Tales of Graces F Remastered.

Tales of Eternia is the third entry in the long-standing Tales series, originally given the localized title Tales of Destiny II when it launched in North America in 2001 (not to be confused with the actual Tales of Destiny 2, which was never localized into English).

According to the press release, shared below, the new remaster includes the following additions:

  • 'Graphics Mode' and 'SFX Mode' toggles that let players switch between remastered or original visuals and sound effects
  • 'Boost features' that allow the player to adjust experience gained or encounter frequency
  • Toggleable destination icons
  • A high-speed mode
  • Battle Retry and Quick Recovery features
  • Extreme difficulty unlocks from the start, and an all-new difficulty level called Unknown

The Japanese website for the game details further additions to the remaster, including an hourglass symbol above timed events, pause & skip options for scenes/skits, autosave, a skit player, a BGM player, New Game +, Nereid's Labyrinth unlocked on a first playthrough, new updates to the Tales quiz in-game, subtitle adjustments, and some menu adjustments.
